Summary of Granés Fundació’s latest activities
Since its formation, Granés Fundació has undertaken a series of activities. Here are some of the most significant:
- Assistance to cope with Covid-19 for challenged people and families living in the Pla de l’Estany
A support line to provide targeted assistance to families who look after disabled children or relatives and who now find themselves in a situation of financial hardship as a result of the Covid-19 crisis. The activity has been carried out in coordination with various organisations in the Pla de l’Estany. - Financial support to care for and protect disabled people who live in care homes during the health emergency caused by Covid-19
This activity seeks to cover the cost of performing serology and PCR tests on the disabled people who live in the care facilities of the Fundació Autisme Mas Casadevall. The other activity under this agreement has been to cover the cost of extra meals for the disabled people who live at the Fundació Estany’s El Sopluig care home. - Participation in the Pla de l’Estany Disability Panel
Granés Fundació cooperates with the Pla de l’Estany Disability Panel, which provides a meeting point for the county’s third sector organisations, services and public resources. Its goal is to share needs, socialise information and move forward in improving the inclusion and care of disabled people and their families. Granés Fundació has made its facilities available both for the meetings held by the Panel and for those of its Age and Disability Committee, and also as a venue for its training sessions and talks. - Covenant with Junts i Endavant
Cooperation with the third sector organisation Junts i Endavant to enable it to recruit more educators for its sport and leisure campus during the summers of 2018 and 2019. - 2nd Tour of the Lake of Banyoles
Provision of financial support to the Fundació Esclerosi Múltiple to help it organise the second charity walk for multiple sclerosis around the perimeter of the Lake of Banyoles, held on 22 September 2019. - Cooperation with the 2019 TV3 Charity Marathon
Granés Fundació’s facilities hosted a talk on rare diseases, within the framework of the activities organised for the 2019 TV3 Charity Marathon. The participants in the round table held on 11 December included Eva, Nines and Esther, who talked about their personal experience with rare diseases, and the disabilities they cause in many cases.
The activity’s goal was to increase awareness of a reality that still receives insufficient attention from public opinion, public administrations and the pharmaceutical industry, in spite of their increasing prevalence.
Granés Fundació contributed 2,000 euros to the Fundació La Marató de TV3. - Collaboration with the Families School
Granés Fundació offered its facilities to host the Families School, organised by the Centre El Puig, the Fundació Autisme Mas Casadevall and the Fundació Estany. Targeting the parents of disabled children, the activity consists of a series of talks and workshops provided with support from Dincat and the Government of Catalonia. - Agreement with Escenaris Especials
During a large part of 2019, Granés Fundació has made its facilities available to Escenaris Especials and La Companyia – a group of 13 actors and actresses – for rehearsals. This theatre group works in the prevention of social exclusion for reasons of disability, mental illness, drug addiction and/or neuromotor deficits. - Collaboration with the documentary “5-2=7”
Provision of financial support for the production of the documentary 5-2=7, whose aim is to give visibility to deafblindness, a little known disability that unfortunately affects 3,000 people in Catalonia. This audiovisual project by the production company Multisignes has been screened at the Master Doc Film Festival, where it obtained the Special Audience Award. - Cooperation in publishing the book “Amb nom i cognoms. 151 personatges del Pla de l’Estany (segles XIX i XX)”
