MÉS Project. Social mentoring for young people and children in Pla de l’Estany

The MÉS Project was born from the Participatory study of the social and educational reality of young people in Pla de l’Estany, the fourth booklet in the Granés Fundació Dialogues Collection that was published in June 2024. In this participatory study in Pla de l’Estany, where young people from the region were listened to, the need to create a support space was detected to reduce social inequalities and improve the educational opportunities of young people with and without disabilities in the region. The first edition of the MÉS Project was carried out in the 2024-2025 academic year.

The MÉS Project supports the improvement of educational and life opportunities for children and young people with disabilities in Pla de l’Estany.

The objectives of the MÉS Project are:

• To support in the processes of personal autonomy and decision-making.
• Promote the participation of children and young people in non-formal education activities, community spaces and local entities, to improve their socialization and inclusion.
• Accompany in the educational transition processes, from primary to secondary and from compulsory secondary to post-compulsory and guide towards the extension of educational trajectories.
