This Wednesday November 20, we participated in the hearing before the Social Rights Committee of the Parliament of Catalonia to present the 2nd Report on Intellectual Disability in Catalonia. Participants included Laura Masferrer, managing director of Granés Foundation, Víctor Galmés, director of DINCAT, and Raquel Arriaza, representative of Dincat’s Council for the Participation of People with Intellectual Disabilities.
During this hearing, we took the opportunity to highlight that the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities is still unknown to a large part of society and many political actors. Therefore, the report is structured according to the convention’s principles so that it can also serve as another tool for creating better public policies.
