The dual artistic event promoted by Granés Fundació and the Banyoles City Council was a complete success. The activity was held on Saturday, November 4, and attracted over 300 people between the screening of the documentary “Bailar la locura” and the dance performance “J-AhO! II”.

The first activity of the afternoon was the screening of “Bailar la locura”, co-directed by Marta Espar and Maiol Virgili. The audiovisual was screened at the Ateneu de Banyoles Auditorium and had previously sold out. The documentary tells the story of three contemporary dance dancers who are creating a dance piece about the limits of madness and contact three girls with psychiatric diagnoses to participate in their creative process.

After the screening, the event moved to Banyoles’ Plaça Major, which filled up to watch the dance performance “J-AhO! II Who’s crazy, you or I?” . Dancers Clàudia Gómez, Amaiur Luluaga, and Montse Àlvarez offered a captivating performance that helped break down prejudices in the field of mental health. Finally, attendees enjoyed a discussion in which the three dancers, Marta Espar and Maiol Virgili, co-directors of the documentary, and Laura Masferrer, director-manager of Granés Fundació, participated.
