The three events held to present the documentary ‘Bailar la Locura’, co-directed by Marta Espar and Maiol Virgili, welcomed over 400 people. The documentary tells the story of three contemporary dance dancers who spend a few days with three young women diagnosed with a mental disorder to reflect together on the experience of treatment and recovery.

The audiovisual work was produced with the support of various entities and institutions, including Granés Fundació. To present the film, Granés Fundació organized a film forum on Thursday, January 26, at Cinema Truffaut, where after the screening, a film forum was held with Marta Espar and Maiol Virgili, co-directors of the documentary, Alba Coll and Montse Àlvarez, protagonists of the documentary, and Laura Masferrer, director of Granés Fundació.

A dance forum was also organized with the show “J-AhO! II”, which inspired the documentary, on Sunday, January 29, at the La Mercè Cultural Center. “J-AhO! II” is a dance piece that emerged from a reflection on the boundary between sanity and madness, and it was created in collaboration with people who have experienced or are experiencing some type of mental disorder, seeking real experiences that provide authenticity. After the show, the dance forum took place, with the participation of dancers Amaiur Luluaga, Clàudia Gomez, and Montse Àlvarez, Marta Espar and Maiol Virgili, co-directors of the documentary, and Laura Masferrer.

Tickets for the screening of ‘Bailar la Locura’ at Cinema Truffaut on Tuesday, January 31, have also sold out. A new session has been scheduled at the same venue for the first half of February.
