«Bailar la Locura» is a documentary that explores the boundaries between «normality» and madness, and tells the story of three contemporary dancers who spend a few days with three young women diagnosed with mental illness to reflect together on how treatment and recovery are experienced. The audiovisual project was created with the support of various entities and institutions, including Granés Fundació.
From this experience, they create a contemporary dance choreography to express all this reflection through dance and to fight against the prejudices and stigma that often surround these illnesses and cause those who experience them to isolate themselves.
The documentary won the Audience Award last October at the Chorescope dance festival, and was a finalist at DOC.España, a competitive section of the Semana Internacional de Cine de Valladolid.
«Bailar la locura» is a landmark documentary for raising awareness about mental illnesses, and will be presented in Girona in early 2023.
